Many of JKL's projects,
through park districts and
municipalities, include the
development of playgrounds
and parks for various
activities. With each
recreational facility, JKL
reviews construction
impacts and adjusts the
project to allow continued use of the park as improvements are installed.
Working closely
with park district personnel, we meet the needs of the design committees and landscapers to achieve effective,
safe, long-lasting solutions and to provide cost-efficient and timely results for each project.

These walking and jogging paths in Mount Prospect and Des Plaines are
constructed on Commonwealth Edison's stretch of land from the northwest tollway past Mount Prospect road. They allow pedestrian access from the park district buildings
to several parks and baseball fields, spanning well over two miles. Among its recent improvements have been new sealcoating and striping along its length.
This bridge, a reconstruction project for
the Village of Mount Prospect, serves as one of two pedestrian walks between the two sides of Weller Creek. It not only serves as a convenient path for walkers wishing to
cross to the other side of the park, but it also provides a route for children walking to school. The reconstruction replaced an aging, unsafe bridge. Our engineers
worked with the village of Mount Prospect and the contractors to ensure that minimal vegetation destruction occured. Like most of our projects, our work here provided
the community with a safe, long-lasting, and convenient improvement to the park and recreation system of Mount Prospect.
