 Sunrise Park
Mount Prospect, IL
This playground replaced an aging and outdated playstructure and swing with two safer and more versatile structures,
one for children under 6 and another for children ages 7 and older. Included in the structure is a swingset and multi-pondo, built on an engineered wood fiber play surface.
The design of the playground and surrounding sidewalk minimized the amount of eathwork, correcting a minor drainage problem.

 Road Improvement Program
South Barrington, IL
As village engineer, JKL is responsible for this summer's road maintenance program for
South Barrington, IL. Several local roads are aging and weathering throughout the village. JKL has evaluated the problems and our proposed improvement plan is now undergoing the
construction phase.  Currently, we are supervising the resurfacing of two local roads. Additionally, we have designed and regraded new ditches along the roadside to
improve drainage.
Several other roads will also be improved with crackfilling and patching. Our signage program will update and replace deteriorating streetscapes, improving sign visibility. |

 New Haven Development
Fairview St. - Mount Prospect, IL
This residence, currently under construction, is one of two homes being constructed across the street from Fairview Elementary School.
JKL worked closely with the developers and the village of Mount Prospect to coordinate the house construction and the simultaneous road resurfacing of Fairview. Here, our
engineers were able to stake out the location and complete drainage and grading plans for the new
structure, allowing construction to continue even during the raod resurfacing. Analyzing the original residence, we determined that the existing sanitary service was
salvageable, allowing for a more economical and rapid completion.
